Call for Abstracts

CIMS invites you to submit an abstract for the 2009 Mother-Friendly Childbirth Forum. The 2009 Forum will focus on strategies for promoting normal birth and evidence-based maternity care practices. The annual event addresses issues of interest to health professionals, birth advocates, and consumers. The Forum highlights the most current evidence by national experts and includes workshops on applying that knowledge to everyday maternity care.

  • Abstract Submission Form (Word): Abstract submissions are due by September 15, 2008. Email completed forms to Denna at dsuko@motherfriendly.org.

  • Speaker Registration & Honorarium: Accepted speakers are asked to register as usual for participation in the conference. Speakers will receive an honorarium of $150 – this compensation will be subtracted from the conference registration fee.

2008 CIMS Mother-Friendly Annual Forum

The Program Schedule included an exceptional array of educational sessions and a new feature for the 2008 Forum -- specialty workshops on Thursday, March 6.

Keynote speakers at the 2008 Forum included Charles S. Mahan, MD, Dean and Professor Emeritus in the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida and the Lawton and Rhea Chiles Center for Healthy Mothers and Babies; Eugene R. Declercq, Ph.D, MBA Council Chair, Boston University School of Public Health; and Jennifer Block, journalist and author of Pushed: The Painful Truth About Childbirth and Modern Maternity Care.
